Job Title: Program Registrar
Status: Full time/Salaried
Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota
Job Summary:
Life at Circus Juventas is about striving for new levels of excellence in artistry, athleticism, mental acuity and creativity. The largest circus school in North America is seeking candidates who have a broad intellectual perspective, strong leadership skills, and a high degree of personal integrity and professionalism to a complex and unique school. Circus Juventas enrolls 1,000 students in our year-round out-of-school program, and 400 students in six weeks of summer day camps. The Program Registrar is responsible for taking a practical overview of the implementation and administration of all aspects of the program.
Responsibilities include:
- Strong technical and data skills – must be proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel, and be comfortable learning registration software, Active Network.
- Strong project management skills – Must have a formal method for tracking project tasks, person assigned to task and duration of task. Needs to be able to manage multiple projects that share the same resources, particularly people.
- Experience managing complex scheduling requirements – Responsible for overseeing and working collaboratively with other departments on quarterly class registration, session schedules (acquiring intimate knowledge of circus acts, equipment, and arena space), and show orders.
- Ability to work independently, proactively, creatively, and collaboratively with executives, artists, coaches, students, and parents.
- Willingness to provide general support for various additional projects as needed and be a team player.
- Variable schedule – Three times per year, during registration, additional hours may be required. In addition, periodically throughout the year some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Summary
Our ideal candidate is an experienced project and data manager, communicator and team player who also is willing to embrace an atypical work environment. Program registrar must be knowledgeable or interested in learning about circus arts curriculum, terminology, and unique requirements for each act.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years administrative, and/or project management experience
- Proficient in data management in MS Access and Excel
- Ability to learn new software as needed
Bonus skills
- Experience with Active Network.

JOB SUMMARY
The Development Director is responsible for leading all development activities for Circus Juventas in efforts to raise funding for organization operations and its student programing. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both strategy and implementation. The position develops, implements, and monitors a comprehensive fundraising plan to expand philanthropic support of the organization including identifying and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders, actively pursuing, and managing corporate and individual leads, fostering strong donor and sponsor stewardship, and seeking, applying for, and managing grant funding. Additionally, this position plans and produces internal fundraising events, including the annual Gala held each November.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Together with the Executive Director, sets annual monetary goals and budgets according to short and long-term goals.
- Establishes fundraising objectives for the organization, setting one year, five year, and longer-term goals.
- Develops relationships with and maintains a list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals.
- Manages a full time Development Assistant and collaborates with volunteer coordination.
- Produces relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to previous donors and the public.
- Researches potential sources of and applies for grants and public funding.
- Oversees the fundraising process and maintains records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
- Plans fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.
- Networks at selected community and leadership events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five years of experience in fundraising for a nonprofit organization highly preferred.
- Proven experience creating and evaluating multichannel solicitation campaigns, stewardship activities and segmenting donors to maximize return.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of tax planning principles and techniques that favor charitable giving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Variable schedule – during shows and various events, additional hours are required. In addition, periodically throughout the year some evening and weekend hours will be required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience using Bloomerang or similar software.
- Knowledge and/or interest in learning about circus arts and youth development programs.
