Eligible to students enrolled in the youth program only.
Scholarship applications will not open for Summer 2023. The next chance to apply for a scholarship will be prior to Fall session 2023.
More information will be available mid-summer.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED BEFORE THE FALL AND SUMMER SESSIONS. If an award is granted in the fall session, those awards will carry through for the winter, spring, and summer sessions. Scholarship recipient awards will be reviewed prior to the 2023 summer session in case any adjustments need to be made, but current scholarship recipients do not need to re-apply. Scholarships are non-transferable to other students, including other family members.
Questions regarding the scholarship program or the application process can be sent to adminstaff@circusjuventas.org.
Financial Aid is only available for our youth program classes. Scholarships are NOT applicable for the following:
- Registration fees
- Costumes
- Workshops/Private lessons
- Preschool or Kinder classes
- Adult classes
- Summer camps
Volunteer Requirement
All awarded scholarship families will be required to work at least FOUR volunteer shifts over the course of our four major events each year (holiday shows, spring shows, summer shows, and annual gala) and any other volunteer opportunities that may arise throughout the year. Shifts can be distributed between these events (e.g. you could work one spring show shift, two summer show shifts, and the night of the gala to complete your required four shifts). Families joining the scholarship program for the first time in summer session are permitted to only work TWO shifts, if unable to fulfill all four in the shorter time frame. Shifts can be split among family members where one family member can work a spring show shift and a different family member can work a summer show shift. Failure to fulfill this requirement could affect future scholarship awards.
Scholarship Selection Criteria and Expectations
Students will be selected for scholarships based on financial need, the student’s description of their interest in the program, course availability, and availability of funds. Students returning to the scholarship program will also be evaluated on the fulfillment of the volunteer requirement, class attendance, and their personal conduct while receiving Circus Juventas’ funds. We expect all scholarship recipients to conduct themselves in a way that is in accordance with Circus Juventas values and supportive of our organization, fellow students, and our community at large.
Scholarship recipients age 14 and over are also eligible for the Work-Study Leadership Program and are encouraged to apply. Please visit the Work-Study page on our website for more information. Work-study and scholarship cannot combine to exceed the cost of tuition. If work-study and scholarship combine to exceed your total bill, your scholarship will be adjusted down to reflect a 100% tuition coverage for the session and the additional balance will be lost.
All scholarship applicants will be notified via email whether they were accepted into the scholarship program as soon as possible after the scholarship application submission deadline. Any questions may be directed to adminstaff@circusjuventas.org.
Scholarship Application Requirements
The following information is REQUIRED for your application to be considered:
- This application form, filled out in its entirety by both the student(s) and parent.
- The first two pages of parent/guardian(s)’ most recent 1040 US Tax Form (if you filed jointly please submit one copy; if you filed separately please submit a copy of each form). We cannot process your scholarship application without this form!
Application Tip
The final questions on the scholarship application form require written statements from both the student and the parent/guardian. It is advisable to begin the application process with answers to these questions pre-written as there is no way to save an application in process and return later. A preview of these questions is below:
Q: Please explain the special financial circumstances regarding the need for financial aid (to be filled out by parent/guardian).
Q: Please explain why you would like to take Circus Juventas classes and how you believe circus classes would help you at school or at home (to be filled out by the student(s)).
