Volunteers are the backbone of our organization, with around 400 individuals supporting performances, events, and year-round operations. No matter your connection to Circus Juventas, interests, or experience: there is a place for EVERYONE in the Circus Juventas volunteer program!

Do I have to be a parent of a Circus Juventas student to volunteer?
No! Whether you are a community member, CJ family member, friend of a friend, circus arts fan, or just love volunteering, anyone is welcome to be a part of our volunteer community!
How do I sign up to volunteer?
We use an online volunteer system called Bloomerang for all of our volunteer opportunities. Click here for a step-by-step walkthrough of how to sign up to volunteer with us!
Can I bring my child with me to volunteer?
While we are a youth circus school, we do not permit volunteers to bring their children, as we do not have the capacity for them, and need our volunteers’ full attention on the task at hand. Thank you for your understanding!
How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Depends on the volunteer role! We have a variety of roles for those over 18, (such as ushering), and under 18 (such as concessions and raffle selling). Our volunteer sign-up system Bloomerang will also help you filter by age, but if you still have questions, reach out to the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@circusjuventas.org
Do I get to watch the show while volunteering?
Although many of our volunteer roles are positioned within the arena during performances, volunteers are expected to be there as volunteers, not audience members. We expect our volunteers to perform their responsibilities while the show goes on, and we cannot ensure that volunteer roles will provide a view of the show. If you are interested in seeing a Circus Juventas show, please go to the ‘Performances’ tab above to purchase a ticket!
How do I know what volunteer role is right for me?
Each volunteer role comes with a full description of the physical, social, and special training requirements. You can find the full role descriptions when signing up for that particular show in Bloomerang. We expect our volunteers to use their own discretion in choosing what volunteer roles are right for them, but we are also happy to help you find a good fit: email volunteer@circusjuventas.org
Do I need prior experience to volunteer?
For most of our volunteer roles, the answer is no! Most of our roles incorporate day-of training and therefore no prior experience is required. Other roles such as spotlights, soundboard, rigging, and our Lead volunteer roles do require training during certain times of the year and experience. Check out the role descriptions for more info!

Welcome to Bloomerang Volunteer!
Learning new things is never easy! So, we want to give you a step-by-step walkthrough of how to use the Bloomerang Volunteer system to sign up for our volunteer opportunities. Follow the guide below to join our Organization* on Bloomerang Volunteer.
- Step 1: Visit our Bloomerang Volunteer Organization page here and add your information to join our online volunteer system.

- Fill out your information to the best of your ability here. Some questions such as age will help you automatically filter for volunteer Roles you qualify for.
- Step 2: On the Organization page, scroll down to find the current available Opportunities (such as the Big Top Ball). To join or “add” an Opportunity, click on its card on the Organization page.
- Step 3: Once you have added an Opportunity, it will leave the Organization page and be found instead under “My Opportunities” on your Bloomerang Volunteer account.
- Step 4: On the Opportunity page, you can click the green “Sign Up for more Shifts” button and sign up for Shifts you are available.
- Step 5: Show up for your volunteer shift and have fun! 🙂
- Step 6: If you are a whiz at using the system, feel free to help others learn how to use it too!
*The words Organization, Opportunity, Shift, Role, and Qualification refer to the elements of the Bloomerang Volunteer sign-up process and have been capitalized to distinguish them.
