Chimgee Haltarhuu
Chimgee began training in gymnastics at age 11 in her native Mongolia. She beat out over 550 applicants to gain one of two spots at the Mongolian State Circus College, where she graduated top of her class, specializing in acrobatics and aerial. After touring internationally for 7 years with the Mongolian State Circus, Chimgee’s act was hand-selected by Ringling Brothers Circus in 1991 to perform hand vaulting adagio, pyramid tumbling, and bungee trapeze in America. She has been performing foot juggling, hula hoops, and handstands in the U.S. ever since, including performances with her own Circus Manduhai. Chimgee began teaching circus in 1996, first with Circus Smirkus in Vermont, and has been with Circus Juventas since 2002. She makes a yearly trip to Mongolia to raise awareness for domestic abuse.
