Each year when the summer show is done we say goodbye to graduating seniors going off to college and those who’ve aged out of the program or decided to pursue other opportunities in life. But sometimes we enjoy a little coda, a chance to extend our time with someone who hasn’t quite lost their connection with circus. This summer we have just such an opportunity with PD Weisman, a long time student and veteran of half a dozen summer show casts before he left us for Montana State University in Bozeman last fall. PD has returned to lend his expertise as a circus artist and enthusiastic teacher in our summer camps for a couple months! You may remember him as Peter Pan in last summer’s Neverland or in his memorable turn as the Flying Monkey King in Oz the year before that – but however you recall him, it’s likely in an unbelievably acrobatic maneuver. The photo included captures PD and his hand balancing partner, Kayleen, in what can be described as nothing short of a painfully breathtaking pose. We feel so lucky to have him back under the big top, if only briefly, this summer.
