The gala was truly an incredible event! On behalf of Circus Juventas and the gala planning committee, thank you to everyone that attended and/or supported this year’s annual gala in celebration of our 23rd year. The Smithsonian Folklife Festival video revealed what we can do for our students and community when we come together. We are making a difference each day in the lives of our young people. With your generous giving, our preliminary numbers indicate the annual gala raised over $160,000 in sales – our best year ever! That money will help support our programs, scholarships, and facility. Your donations have truly helped us ensure every student has the opportunity to become extraordinary in their own way.

We’d like to extend a special thanks to our honored special guest,Bello Nock, for his comedic talents and heartfelt endorsement of our organization.

Thank you as well to our Gala Co-Chairs, Heather McMullen, Erica Kragerud-Smith, and Maggie Hanson, for their exemplary leadership. In the words of Dan and Betty, it was an extraordinary evening full of extraordinary people doing extraordinary things!

SUPPORTING CIRCUS JUVENTAS

Like most nonprofit organizations, Circus Juventas relies on grants and contributions to help cover our operating budget each year. Our funding comes from a number of sources, including major grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and corporations like Target. We also receive generous donations from hundreds of individuals in a variety of ways in addition to our annual gala:

• Give to the Max Day is on Thursday, November 16th. Every year thousands of organizations raise money to improve the quality of life in Minnesota and communities around the world. Please consider a gift to the Circus Juventas this year on Minnesota’s biggest day of giving!

• United Way workplace campaigns are underway this fall. Did you know that you can designate some or all of your United Way gifts to go directly to Circus Juventas? (On some lists, you may need to select our corporate name, Circus of the Star.)

• Employer matching gifts are available through many Twin Cities companies, and some will even match volunteer time as well as cash donations. Circus Juventas received thousands of dollars in matching gifts last year!

For 12 days in June and July, 31 Circus Juventas students performed and connected with audiences in Washington, D.C. during this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Hear their stories about special performances like “Circus of the Senses” for sight/hearing impaired audiences and watch them meet legendary circus performers.
