Your town. Your kids. Your circus.
Our first 25 years have literally flown right by. We're planning an entire year of celebrations to commemorate a quarter-century of being your hometown circus, and we're so excited to have you along for the ride.
Our 2019-2020 schedule brings our 25th anniversary celebration to life. Join us as we celebrate a quarter-century of circus excellence and youth development:
25th anniversary year kickoff party + World Circus Day celebration: April 13, 2019
We kicked off our 25th anniversary year in April 2019 by partnering with dear coach Chimgee Haltarhuu’s Mission Manduhai and throwing a big-top party of epic proportions observing World Circus Day. Our attendees enjoyed thrilling performances throughout the evening, live music, face painting, food trucks, and more. They even got to try out real circus equipment with the help of skilled coaches while we raised money for two nonprofits.
Spring show 2019: BON APPÉTIT! : April 24 through May 4
Our annual spring shows highlight the skills learned by students of all ages. It’s the time of year when beginning- and intermediate-level performers have a chance to showcase their skills to friends and family. Featuring over 850 of our beginning- and intermediate-level students, in spring 2019 we served up a delectable buffet of artistic delights honoring all things culinary in our 18th Annual Spring Celebration Performances, Bon Appétit!
Summer show 2019: TWISTED: July 26 through August 11
In summer 2019, we awed sold-out audiences with Twisted, a magical fairy-tale mix-up featuring our most advanced performers: Something was amiss in the Black Forest…The fairy tale world was thrown for a loop when sorceress Baba Yaga and her sisters brewed up a devilish plan to tangle the traditional tales and sowed the seeds of epic chaos, forcing beloved fairy tale characters to band together and strive to set their stories straight.
L’homme Cirque – David Dimitri Presents His One-Man Circus: September 8 through 22
In 2019, our performance season was extended into September, when the acclaimed David Dimitri brought his own big top to the St. Paul Parks property adjacent to ours. After volunteers helped raise Dimitri’s tent, he went on to perform 14 runs of his one-man show, L’homme Cirque. We were honored to host Dimitri’s humorous, poetic show, which culminated with an outdoor high-wire walk reaching 150 feet into the air (with no net!) – a world-famous finale that was free and open to the public. Check out this video of David in action!
Circus Juventas Annual Gala: November 2, 2019
One of our most exciting events of the year is our annual gala, an evening of glitz and glam pairing amazing student performances with a three-course meal, live and silent auctions, a raffle, and more. November 2019’s gala raised over $200,000 (our best year ever!), and our community came together yet again less than two weeks later on Give to the Max Day, when we received a record-breaking number of donations through GiveMN. Like most nonprofits, Circus Juventas could not continue to shape the lives of young people without generous support.
World Circus Day 2020: May 9, 2020, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
We’re culminating our year of celebration with a bit-top open house for all ages. Our community will have the chance to play on circus equipment, enjoy breathtaking performances, and more! Think food trucks, face painting, and local vendors! After 25 years of our community supporting our nonprofit mission, this is our gift back to all of you as we observe the 11th annual World Circus Day.
